When is Back to the Rafters going to Release? It will premiere on the Prime Video in 2021. 

It should also be noted that any plans to renew the show would have been interrupted by the current COVID-19 situation. The production will unlikely be completely shut down because of the crisis but will certainly be slowed. Many predicted that the new season would have premiered in the fall of 2020 but as per sources it resumed in September 2020 and filming was completed on 2 October 2020.

The series will be a spin-off and sequel to Packed to the Rafters, which aired on Seven Network from 2008 to 2013.

Where will the Back to the Rafters Stream

The series will not air on Seven Network, instead it will be placed on Prime Video, which was confirmed in December 2019. Filming commenced in Sydney in 2020.

In September 2019, it was reported the cast members were in discussion to revive the series for a 2020 season under the working title Back to the Rafters.

Here is the complete list for the cast member of series Back to the Rafters. Check it out:

  • Rebecca Gibney : Best known for her roles in The Flying Doctors and Packed to the Rafters, the latter of which earned her a Gold Logie Award.
  • Erik Thomson : Thomson had a film acting career, winning an Australian Film Institute Award for his portrayal of Richard in the 2004 independent movie Somersault.
  • Jessica Marais : She is an Actress most recognized for her appearance on the series Magic City.
  • Hugh Sheridan : He has won multiple Logie Awards for Most Popular Actor in the aforementioned role.
  • Angus McLaren : Australian actor best known for his roles on Packed to the Rafters and H2O: Just Add Water who made his first professional appearance in a recurring role on the series Something in the Air.
  • Michael Caton : He started his career with a small role in the 1969 television series Skippy.
  • George Houvardas : He is an Australian actor who is best known for his role as Nick "Carbo" Karandonis in the television series Packed to the Rafters.

In addition, Jessica Marais dropped out of the series for personal reasons in Feb 2020. Later on, in March 2020, it was announced Georgina Haig would take over the role of Rachel Rafter.

It has been now six years since we last saw the Rafter family. The story is going to revolves around, a new life in the country with youngest daughter Ruby, while the older Rafter children face new challenges and Grandpa Ted struggles to find his place. As Dave enjoys his new-found freedom, Julie must reconcile her responsibilities to the family.
