Riverdale season 5 Story & Plot Explained
Riverdale season five will hop forward seven years, which Reinhart described as a "way of revamping" the show. We also know that there's a prom to look forward to, but if the season five trailer is anything to go by, it won't be smooth sailing, with Veronica seemingly finding out about Betty and Archie's controversial kiss. Technically, the prom was supposed to air as part of season four, but it's been shifted to the upcoming season.

Riverdale is one of Netflix's best shows
This bold teen drama television series based on the characters of Archie Comics, has quickly become the talk of the ‘ton’. It follows a coterie of young socialites as they navigate a season of balls, betrothals, and betrayals. The story follows Archie Andrews' life in the small town of Riverdale and explores the darkness hidden behind its seemingly perfect image. It’s largely a blast, with sharp screenwriting, costumes and backdrops bursting with color, and playful covers of Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge. Its diverse casting is a relief, too, underlining Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s willingness to modernize and shake up an often stuffy genre. It’s not all smooth sailing, particularly in its troublesome treatment of sexual assault in one unfortunately memorable episode. Given the talent on board, and the generally warm reception, though, we hope the show’s creatives can treat its relationships with a bit more care Riverdale season 5.
